About SlangZone

SlangZone is a living, community-built dictionary of slang and informal language across dozens of languages — the words you won't find in a textbook, documented the way people actually use them.

How definitions are made

Entries come from two places: words submitted by our registered community, and AI-assisted starter definitions that give new or rare terms a first explanation. AI-assisted entries are published under the SlangZone account so their origin is always clear, and any contributor can edit, expand, or replace them. Community up- and down-votes lift the most accurate definitions to the top.

Sourcing and moderation

Definitions are grounded in real-world usage — how a word is actually used in conversation and online. Entries that readers report are reviewed and removed when they are inaccurate, abusive, or spam. Because slang changes quickly, pages are updated as new meanings appear.

Who runs it

SlangZone is an independent project maintained by a small team of language enthusiasts, not a corporation. Questions and corrections are always welcome through our community channels.
